About Balletto

Balletto Body is the personal project of model, dancer and journalist Simone Kerr. The idea for the range was conceived in London in 2012, when Simone was unable to find attire to wear to class at the world famous Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden. The wider product offering at the time didn't reflect the maturity, sophistication, athleticism or seriousness of the adult dancer, and so Balletto Body was created to fill this hole in the sportswear market.

At the time Simone was living in Europe between London and Milan working as an international model and studying commerce and journalism via correspondence. In 2013 Simone returned to Perth, Australia to complete her degree at The University of Western Australia and create Balletto Body. After graduating in 2014, she returned to Italy to resume work with a number of international brands including Alfa Romeo, Chopard and Lise Charmel.

Currently Balletto Body is producing its third range of dance wear, with each iteration of design and production ironing out teething, design and construction issues to create a tightly curated range of luxury leotards, bodysuit and two pieces for the dancer, by the dancer.

Simone continues to work as a fashion model and brand ambassador, as well as a news reporter and travel journalist, and takes ballet classes all around the world.

A little bit about Simone

International fashion model and dancer Simone Kerr has more than 12 years of industry experience, working consistently both abroad and at home. Having trained as a dancer before moving to New York to work for high fashion clients such as Marchesa, Neiman Marcus and Vanity Fair, Simone has curated a career based around her ability to move, interpreting clients briefs and bringing their artistic visions to life in print, on the screen and on the catwalk.

Appearing on more than a dozen magazine covers, countless billboards and many TV commercials over the course of her career, Simone also appeared for two seasons with Ballet Chicago, dancing soloists and principle roles, as well as being cast as a principle dancer in Cats, The Musical during its Perth season in 2013. Now with a double-degree from one of the countries GO8 universities, Simone runs the dance wear label she founded three years ago, Balletto Body, whilst continuing to collaborate with local and overseas clients as both a face and an ambassador, such as Virgin Airlines, Alfa Romeo and Parisian lingerie giant Lise Charmel. Simone has managed to create longevity in a notoriously fickle field by leveraging her dance abilities to be a valuable point of difference for her clients, who’s repeat patronage speaks for itself.
